Fallen Star UCSDOK, so this isn't something you see every day. This 15x18 house was placed ontop of the Jacobs School of Engineering building at UC San Diego. The complete story is posted on UCSD's News Center site. UCSD-TV has posted a great video showing installation process.

The Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier at UC San Diego is 1,084 feet in length. It serves as a research pier for the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
PEREGRINE FALCON - 2OK, first of all, I have to admit that this image is mostly unremarkable. It's just not everyday that I see a Peregrine Falcon sitting in a tree here in San Diego.
After posting the previous version of this image on Feb 2nd (removed), I was looking at it and thinking I could do a better job with post processing. So, this time I opened the image in Lightroom 4 Beta. In my previous attempt in Lightroom 3, the sky was completely blown out. In Lightroom 4, it was easy to recover quite a bit of sky. I then re-cropped and removed a distracting twig in Photoshop.
I'm really liking LR4 so far.
